Excerpt from the book:
I started out from New York City on a bright sunny morning in July. I was riding a 1919 Harley Davidson motorcycle, and I was excited to begin my journey across the United States.
I had been planning this trip for months, and I had everything I needed packed on my motorcycle. I had a tent, a sleeping bag, a few changes of clothes, and some food. I also had a map of the United States, and I had marked out the route I wanted to take.
I rode west out of New York City, and I quickly left the hustle and bustle of the city behind me. I enjoyed riding through the countryside, and I stopped to admire the scenery whenever I could.
I traveled through Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, and Iowa. The roads were mostly good, but there were some rough spots. I also had to deal with some rain and wind.
But I didn't let the challenges stop me. I kept riding, and I eventually reached my destination: San Francisco.
I had traveled over 10,000 miles, and I had seen a lot of the country. I had met a lot of people, and I had had a lot of adventures. It was an amazing journey, and I'm glad I did it.
